A unique store for supplies, type, tools, equipment and information
for the table-top letterpress printer.

After 23 years of occupancy on the fourth floor at 55 North Chicopee Street, Chicopee, MA
our lease was not renewed. Therein, we have been forced to find new space and prepare to
relocate thousands of square feet of fixtures, equipment and inventory. A recent successful
auction reduced the number of presses and other equipment to be moved. Later in May
a second auction through High Bids Win will be conducted.

A new location has just been found, not all that far from our current address. Multiple actions
are presently underway. First, a floor plan and layout for the new Store is being developed.
The new space will be smaller, more compact. Second, the physical moving of some emptied
shelves, counters and tables to the new location can now begin. And third, inventory already
packed can be moved, opening up more space for pallets to be packed for transport.

The time has arrived when we must concentrate on the task at hand. . . there’s a whole
lot more inventory to gather, box and move. It’s needs to be done in systematic,
planned way. And, it is going to take a considerable amount of time and labor to
finish. Sadly, we need to stop incoming orders to concentrate on and accomplish
the task. Therein, as of April 20th, we’ll not be accepting, mailing or shipping orders.
Orders inhouse now are being completed. Estimates are it’ll take 6 weeks to complete
the move; after all, we must be out of the space by May 31st. Thereafter, probably
another 2 to 3 weeks to have it all laid out, put away and be ready to operate again.
The first of June check here for a reopening date and watch
for announcements on social media.

We are so thankful for the many expressions of concern and offers of support!
Letterpress Thing’s intentions are to continue as an online resource to the
letterpress commnity for type, tools, supplies and other letterpress items,
functioning, as before, from a warehouse for distribution and pickup.
